Press release 69/2009
3 March, 2009

Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb will participate in the transatlantic dinner to be organised by Belgium in Brussels on Wednesday, 4 March. The invited guests include the foreign ministers of EU and NATO member states, EU High Representative Javier Solana, European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.

This is the first transatlantic dinner with the new US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton participating.

During the event, the participants will discuss topical foreign and security policy issues informally, without an actual agenda. Probable topics of discussion will include at least Russia, Afghanistan and Middle East.

Stubb will travel to Brussels from Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, from a high-level seminar handling peace mediation. He will embark on a return flight to Finland late Wednesday evening.
